Figurative Sculptor and Educator
Born in 1962 in Pietrasanta, a city internationally renowned for its sculptural tradition, Marcello Giorgi was immersed in art and craftsmanship from an early age. He studied at the Pietrasanta Art Institute Stagio Stagi and, at sixteen, began a ten-year apprenticeship at the Claudio Mariani Foundry, where he learned mould-making and bronze casting from master artisans.

Sculpture Built Through Experience
In 1988, he was selected to assist the sculptor Igor Mitoraj, an experience that shaped his understanding of figurative art, form, and classical modelling. In 1991, he founded his own sculpture studio in Pietrasanta, collaborating with leading contemporary artists on works in terracotta, marble, bronze, and resin.
After relocating to Montreal in 2016, he began teaching to share Italian sculptural traditions with professional artists and dedicated students. He now leads his sculpture school in Pietrasanta, where he continues to pass on a method rooted in anatomy, form, and the classical tradition.
His works are held in museums, public spaces, and private collections worldwide.
